Oil casing is a type of steel pipe used to support the wall of an oil and gas well to ensure the smooth operation of the well during and after drilling. Unlike tubing and drill pipe, it cannot be reused. It's a disposable consumable. As a result, casing consumption accounts for more than 70 percent of all well piping.
